Privacy policy
A plain-language description of what this site does and does not collect.
Effective date: October 7, 2026. This site, filamentfinders.com, is run by the FilamentFinders editorial team.
What we collect
Nothing directly. There are no accounts, comments, newsletters, or forms that send information to us. The filament finder and site search run entirely in your browser, and what you enter is not sent anywhere.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages readers find useful and which product links they follow, but only if you accept it in the cookie notice. Until you accept, no Google script loads and no analytics cookie is set. If you accept, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_<id>) and Google receives your IP address, browser and device details, the pages you view, and clicks on “View on Amazon” links (which product and from which page). Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We don’t use advertising features, and we don’t sell or share data for advertising.
Your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage. You can change it at any time with the “Cookie settings” link in the footer; declining removes the Google Analytics cookies on this site. Google’s handling of the data is described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can also block it in every site with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Amazon links
When you click a “View on Amazon” link, you leave this site. Amazon may use cookies to attribute purchases to our Associates account. Amazon’s handling of your data is governed by the Amazon.com Privacy Notice.
Hosting
This site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may log technical information such as IP addresses for security purposes; see the GitHub General Privacy Statement.
Fonts and images
We use system fonts, so no font service receives your data. Illustrations are served from this site. Product photos on pages that recommend specific products are loaded directly from Amazon’s image servers, as Amazon’s terms require; when your browser loads them, Amazon receives standard request information such as your IP address and browser type, as described in the Amazon.com Privacy Notice linked above.
