Micro Swiss CM2 MK8 vs Creality Hardened Steel MK8 Nozzle Kit
Micro Swiss CM2 MK8 vs Creality's hardened steel MK8 kit on maker data: hardness, thread, sizes, Ender-3 fit. Pick Micro Swiss for specs, Creality for spares.
On this page (11 sections)
Pick the Micro Swiss CM2 MK8 if you want one fully specified nozzle with a maker's limited lifetime warranty against wear, or you own an Ender-3 S1. Pick Creality's Hardened Steel Nozzle Kit if you own an original Ender-3 or Ender-3 V2, want several hardened spares from your printer's own maker, and can check the sizes on the listing. Both are sold as wear-resistant replacement nozzles for older Creality printers, and both makers name the original Ender-3 and the Ender-3 V2. Micro Swiss documents its CM2 in detail, including a hardened steel tip heat-treated to 68 HRC and an M6x1.0 thread. Creality's kit page lists five feature lines and a long list of compatible printers, but no thread, length, hardness figure, temperature, or size breakdown. Neither maker publishes a maximum temperature for these nozzles, and neither lists the Ender-3 V3 family.
Who this comparison is for
This page is for owners of a Creality Ender-3, Ender-3 V2, or Ender-3 S1 choosing between two wear-resistant replacements for a screw-in nozzle: the Micro Swiss CM2 MK8 Nozzle (Hardened Tip) in 0.4 mm, SKU M2901-04, and Creality's High-end Hardened Steel Nozzle Kit. Neither maker lists the Ender-3 V3, V3 SE, V3 KE, or V3 Plus, so we don't claim either fits them. If you're not sure which nozzle system your printer uses, start with our guide to choosing a replacement nozzle. For more printers and nozzles, see the replacement nozzle shortlist. If your printer uses a V6-style hotend instead, see Micro Swiss CM2 RepRap (V6) vs E3D V6 Brass Nozzle.

How we compared them
This is a research-based comparison. Every detail below comes from the two makers' store pages, listed in the sources, and printer fit comes from our compatibility records, which are built from those pages. We haven't printed with either nozzle, so nothing here is a measured result of ours. Where a maker describes its own product, such as "an ideal nozzle for all applications," we label it as the maker's claim.
Creality publishes far less than Micro Swiss for this kit. We searched Creality's store for the kit and found no other page with more detail, so where the table says "not published," we mean Creality's page doesn't give it. Neither maker publishes a wear test, a flow figure, or a temperature rating for these nozzles, so there's no test table on this page.

Materials and hardness
The two nozzles are built differently, as far as their makers say.
- Micro Swiss CM2. Micro Swiss says the core "is made of high-temperature Copper Chromium Zirconium" with electroless nickel plating, and that "this special alloy retains its strength at much higher temperatures compared to a regular copper alloy." The tip "is made of M2 Hardened High Speed Steel and coated with a special nonstick nano coating," which it lists as WS2 with a coefficient of friction of 0.035. It gives a heat-treated hardness of 68 HRC. So only the tip is hardened steel. The body is a copper alloy.
- Creality kit. Creality's page names the kit "High-end Hardened Steel Nozzle Kit" and lists "More Wear-resistant and High Hardness," "Premium Materials Handle High Temperature Filaments," and "Corrosion Resistance for Longer Service Life." It gives no hardness figure, no alloy, and no coating, and it doesn't say whether the whole nozzle or only part of it is hardened steel.
Micro Swiss calls the CM2 "an ideal nozzle for all applications." That's the maker's claim. Neither maker publishes a wear test, so we can't say which lasts longer with abrasive filament. Micro Swiss backs its nozzle with a "limited lifetime warranty against wear." Creality's product page shows a store-wide "Up to 12-Month Warranty" badge, without saying what that means for this kit. Our guide to nozzles for abrasive filaments covers when a wear-resistant nozzle is worth it.
Thread, length, and sizes
Micro Swiss gives the dimensions you need to check a screw-in nozzle: an M6x1.0 thread, a 5 mm thread length, and a 13 mm overall length. It sells the CM2 MK8 in 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, and 1.0 mm orifices, as separate SKUs from M2901-04 to M2901-10.
Creality's page gives none of those dimensions. It says "Various Size Options for More Creations" but doesn't list which sizes are in the kit or how many nozzles it holds. The 8-piece count and the MK8 label in our catalog record come from the Amazon listing we link to, not from Creality's page, so check the listing for the sizes before you rely on a specific diameter. If you're choosing a size, our nozzle sizes guide explains the trade-offs.
Printer fit
Both makers publish long fit lists, and both cover the original Ender-3 and the Ender-3 V2.
- Micro Swiss lists Creality's Ender 2, Ender 3, Ender 3 V2, Ender 3 Pro, Ender 3 S1, Ender 3 Max, Ender 5, Ender 5 Plus, Ender 5 Pro, Ender 6, the CR-10 family, the CP-01, and the Sermoon D1, along with printers from Anet, Artillery, FLSUN, Geeetech, MakerBot, Sovol, Snapmaker, and others.
- Creality lists "Ender-3 Pro/Ender-3/Ender-3 V2/Ender-5/Ender-5 Pro/Ender-5 Plus/ Ender-3s/Ender-6/Ender-4/Ender-3 Max/Ender-2 Pro/Ender-2/CR-10S CR-10/CR-10 S5/CR-10 S4/CR-10Mini/CR-20/CR-20 Pro."
In our compatibility records, the Micro Swiss nozzle fits the Ender-3, Ender-3 V2, and Ender-3 S1, and the Creality kit fits the Ender-3 and Ender-3 V2. Creality's list includes "Ender-3s" but not the Ender-3 S1 by that name, so we don't claim the kit fits the S1. The other printers on both lists are named by their makers, but they aren't in our printer records, so we make no fit claim for them. Neither maker lists the Ender-3 V3, V3 SE, V3 KE, V3 Plus, or V4, so we don't claim either fits those printers.
Temperature
Neither maker publishes a maximum temperature for these nozzles. Creality says its kit can "Handle High Temperature Filaments" without a figure. Micro Swiss says its body alloy "retains its strength at much higher temperatures compared to a regular copper alloy," also without a figure. A nozzle doesn't raise your hotend's limit, so follow your printer maker's temperature limit for the hotend, heater, and thermistor you have.
What each maker says it's for
- Micro Swiss CM2. Micro Swiss calls it "an ideal nozzle for all applications," and pairs the hardened tip with a non-stick coating and a "limited lifetime warranty against wear."
- Creality kit. Creality sells it on wear resistance, high-temperature filaments, corrosion resistance, a range of sizes, and "Extensive Compatibility" across its older printers.

Only the original Ender-3 and the Ender-3 V2 are in the printers list. Creality's page says 'More Wear-resistant and High Hardness' and 'Handle High Temperature Filaments' but gives no temperature. The Amazon listing mentions a 450 °C 'copper alloy nozzle', which conflicts with the hardened steel title. No maxTempC recorded. Pack count (8 pcs) comes from the Amazon listing. Creality's page does not list the sizes included.
- Manufacturer describes the nozzles as more wear-resistant and of high hardness.
- Manufacturer names the original Ender-3 among compatible models.
- Creality's page gives no thread, length, temperature or size breakdown.
- Amazon listing text conflicts with itself on material (hardened steel title, copper alloy in one bullet).
Verdict: which should you buy?

How this page was checked
Every material, dimension, size, warranty, and fit detail above comes from Micro Swiss's and Creality's store pages in the sources section, retrieved on 2026-10-10, and from our compatibility records built from them. We haven't printed with either nozzle for this page, so nothing here is a measured result of ours. Creality's page shows five feature headings and a compatibility list. Its description text holds nothing more, and we found no other Creality page with this kit's specifications. The 8-piece count and the MK8 label in our catalog come from the Amazon listing we link to, not from Creality, so check the listing for the count and sizes.
