Pick the EIBOS Cyclopes if your spools are wider than 70 mm or you want to dry one big spool, since EIBOS documents more room. Pick the Sovol SH02 if you want material presets, listed safety cut-outs, and a sealed box to store spools in, since Sovol documents those. Both are two-spool filament dryers that you can print from, and both makers give 70 °C as the working top end, so the differences are in fit, controls, and how much each maker documents. The EIBOS Cyclopes is a clear upright box with a PTC heater, a timer you set by hand, and ten filament holes. For two spools, EIBOS gives 80 mm of width each, where Sovol's image text gives 70 mm. The Sovol SH02 has a touchscreen with presets for nine materials, a timer up to 98 hours, three sealing rings, and listed overheat and fan-failure protection.
Who this comparison is for
This page is for anyone choosing between these two specific dryers: the EIBOS Cyclopes in its US 110 V version, and the Sovol SH02 with a US plug. Both hold two 1 kg spools, so they suit people who print with two materials or colors, or run two printers. If you need four spools or more than 70 °C, our SUNLU FilaDryer S4 vs Creality SpacePi X4 comparison covers larger dryers, and we've also compared the EIBOS Cyclopes with the four-spool SUNLU FilaDryer S4. If you're still deciding whether you need a heated dryer at all, start with our filament dryer vs dry box guide. For more dryers, see the filament dryer shortlist.

How we compared them
This is a research-based comparison. Every figure below comes from each maker's own product page, listed in the sources. We haven't tested either dryer, so nothing here is a measured result of ours. Where a maker describes its own product, such as Sovol's "better sealing than SH01," we label it as the maker's claim.
The two makers publish in different ways. EIBOS puts most of its figures in two text spec lists on its page, and they don't always agree. Sovol's page text covers heating, sealing, safety, and presets, but its spool fit, outer size, timer range, and preset table appear only as text in its product images, which we label as image text. EIBOS also publishes a Cyclopes user manual on its download page, an image-only PDF that we read from the rendered pages, using only its printed text. Sovol doesn't publish a downloadable SH02 manual on the pages we checked. Neither maker publishes a drying test we could check, so there's no test table here.

Temperature: 70 °C, with an EIBOS caveat
Sovol is consistent. Its page lists an "Adjustable temperature 40°C-70°C" and says the SH02 "reaches 50°C in 7 minutes and 70°C in 25 minutes." Those are Sovol's figures, without test conditions on the page.
EIBOS isn't consistent. Its data sheet says "Control Range: ≤ 70℃," and its description says the temperature "can be adjusted up to 70 degrees." Its tech specs table then lists a "Temperature Control Range≤80°C." EIBOS doesn't explain the difference on the page. Its user manual gives a "Temperature Control Range: ≤70℃" and says the target temperature can be set "from 0℃ to 70℃," so plan around 70 °C. EIBOS doesn't publish a heat-up time. It does give a temperature precision of ±2 °C, which Sovol doesn't.
So if your filament maker's drying temperature is above 70 °C, plan as if neither dryer reaches it. Both makers still list ABS, ASA, PC, and nylon among the materials they dry, which we cover below.
Spool fit and capacity
- EIBOS Cyclopes. EIBOS gives a "Maximum Capacity" of "Double Reels ф217x80mm" or "Single Reel ф217x174mm," and in the next row a "Max Spool Size" of ф217 × 80 mm for two spools or ф217 × 170 mm for one. It says expansion parts raise this to ф250 × 170 mm, but doesn't say what those parts are or whether they come in the box. Its description says the box holds "four rolls of 0.5kg or two rolls of 1kg filament." The spools sit on four roller racks, which EIBOS lists in its package contents photo.
- Sovol SH02. Sovol's page text doesn't give a spool size. Its product images say "Compatible with 200*70mm (2 rolls)" and "200*150mm (1 roll)." Sovol doesn't say whether 200 mm is the spool diameter limit or the size of the spools it tested.
The practical difference is width. For two spools, EIBOS gives 80 mm each and Sovol gives 70 mm, so a spool between those widths fits the EIBOS figure but not Sovol's. Measure your spools' outer diameter and width before buying either. Neither maker publishes a list of spool brands that fit, so "holds two 1 kg spools" doesn't mean it holds every brand's 1 kg spool.
Controls, timer, and presets
The SH02 has a 3.9-inch touchscreen with what Sovol calls "One-Key Preset" for nine materials. Its product image gives the preset table, which Sovol says is "the optimal drying time and temperature" for each.
The Cyclopes uses an LCD panel with physical buttons. You set the temperature and time yourself, and EIBOS says the settings are "automatically memorized" and "will not be affected by power failure." That's image text from its control panel photo. EIBOS gives the timer as "1min~24h or unlimited" in its manual and specs, "0-24hrs" in its description, and "1h-24h or even infinite" in a product image, with a default of 6 hours. Its manual has you set hours from 0 to 24, with a step past 24 switching to unlimited, then minutes from 0 to 59. Sovol's image text gives "0-98 Hours."
Here are the settings each maker suggests. EIBOS's figures come from the "Recommended Settings" table in its user manual, and Sovol's from its preset table image. Neither says how wet the filament was or how the times were chosen, so read them as each maker's guidance rather than drying results.
| Material | EIBOS Cyclopes (manual) | Sovol SH02 preset (image text) |
|---|---|---|
| PLA | 50 °C / 4 h or more | 50 °C / 4–8 h |
| PVA | 50 °C / 4 h or more | 50 °C / 4–8 h |
| TPU | 55 °C / 4 h or more | 55 °C / 4–8 h |
| PETG | 65 °C / 2 h or more | 65 °C / 4–8 h |
| ABS | 60 °C / 2 h or more | 60 °C / 8–12 h |
| ASA | 60 °C / 4 h or more | 60 °C / 8–12 h |
| PC | 70 °C / 8 h or more | 70 °C / 8–12 h |
| Nylon (PA) | 70 °C / 12 h or more | 70 °C / 12 h or more |
| PP | 55 °C / 6 h or more | 55 °C / 4–8 h |
The temperatures agree, but the times don't. EIBOS's manual gives minimums of 2 hours or more for PETG and ABS and 6 hours or more for PP, while Sovol gives 4–8 hours for PETG, PP, and PLA and 8–12 hours for ABS. EIBOS says its table "is for reference only." A product image on EIBOS's store page gives different times for some materials (24 hours for PLA, PVA, TPU, and ASA) and leaves out PP, so we've used the manual. Both makers cap PC and nylon at 70 °C, which is their dryer's limit rather than a guarantee those materials dry fully at that heat. Check your filament maker's drying guidance first, and if it calls for more than 70 °C, neither dryer reaches it.
Sealing, storage, and humidity
Sovol makes sealing a headline feature. It lists "Triple Ring Sealing": an outlet seal that "Blocks moisture at the filament outlet," a middle seal, and a bottom ring for "a fully sealed system." It calls these "Triple rings for better sealing than SH01," which is Sovol's claim with no humidity figures. Its image text says the SH02 "Also can be a sealing holder for filament and keep it dry for a long time," and shows a moisture outlet labelled "OPEN THIS TO LET VAPOR OUT." Sovol's FAQ says to "periodically check the seals to ensure the box remains airtight." Humidity shows on the SH02's touchscreen.
EIBOS describes the Cyclopes as a "FILAMENT DRYER & STORAGE BOX" that works "as both storage box and filament holder," but its page doesn't describe a seal or gasket. Humidity is read from a separate digital hygrometer with a 10–99% range, and EIBOS's package photo lists an A76/LR44 button battery. In its image text, EIBOS says the humidity inside "can drop to as low as 10%" while it runs. That's EIBOS's claim.
Sovol's image text also includes a chart comparing the SH02's humidity and heating speed with an unnamed "Other" dryer. It doesn't say what the other dryer was or how the test was run, so we don't use it.
Feeding the printer
Both makers say you can print from the dryer, and neither names a printer or multi-material system it's been tested with.
- EIBOS Cyclopes. EIBOS lists ten filament holes, "six on the top, two on the front, and two on the back," and includes one PTFE tube. Its tech specs list 1.75 mm filament, and its data sheet adds that you "need to switch the Teflon for 2.85mm filament." One product image warns: "please ROTATE the rolls for drying while NOT ACTIVELY printing to avoid direct hot air from the bottom!" So when drying without printing, turn the spools now and then.
- Sovol SH02. Sovol lists "45° angled outlets, compatible with iron flourine pipes" (its wording; it means PTFE tube). Its image text says the outlets "can be inserted by PTFE Tubing to avoid dried filament contacting moisture in the air before printing." Sovol doesn't say how many outlets the SH02 has in text, or whether a tube is included.
Neither maker mentions Bambu Lab's AMS, Creality's CFS, or any other feeder on the pages we checked, so we make no compatibility claim for either.
Safety features each maker lists
Sovol lists a PTC thermistor that "automatically disconnects heating when the temperature exceeds 130°C, resuming once it falls below 90°C," plus exhaust temperature, fan rotation, and mainboard temperature monitoring. Its comparison table describes a "3-wire self-checking fan." Its image text says an alarm sounds for PTC overheating, a fan that "doesn't work," or a fan outlet that's too hot.
EIBOS's product page doesn't list any overheat protection, fan monitoring, or alarm for the Cyclopes. That doesn't mean it has none, only that EIBOS doesn't document it on the page we checked.
Power and footprint
EIBOS rates the Cyclopes at 100 W, and Sovol lists 150 W for the SH02. Both are each maker's figure, with no energy-use data from either.
EIBOS gives a product size of 213 × 280 × 305 mm without labelling the axes, and its package photo labels the box 20 cm, 26 cm, and 30 cm. It gives the net weight as 1.6 kg in one list and 1.5 kg in another. Sovol's only size figures are in a product image: 11.2 in high, 9.8 in wide, and 6.9 in deep. Sovol doesn't state a weight or input voltage on the page.
What each maker says it's for
- EIBOS Cyclopes. EIBOS says it is "specifically made for the purpose of drying 3D printer filament" and that its internal space is "suitable for parallel use of multiple 3D printers." It lists nylon, PLA, PETG, TPU, ABS, silk, carbon fiber, and wood filaments.
- Sovol SH02. Sovol says the SH02 "maintains optimal temperature and humidity levels by heating and sealing the environment," and its image text calls it "a more capable filament dryer which heats quickly & longer drying durations." Those are Sovol's claims.

How this page was checked
Every specification, setting, and claim above comes from the maker documents in the sources section, retrieved on 2026-10-12; the EIBOS user manual was added on 2026-10-14. We haven't tested either dryer for this page, so nothing here is a measured result of ours. EIBOS's page disagrees with itself on maximum temperature (70 °C and ≤80 °C; the manual gives ≤70℃), single-spool size (174 mm and 170 mm), net weight (1.6 kg and 1.5 kg), the timer's lower end, and filament diameters, so we've reported each figure with where it appears. Its description also gives an internal space of 245 × 305 × 355 mm, which is the same as its listed package size, so we haven't used it. Sovol's spool fit, size, timer range, preset table, seal photos, and alarm list come from text in its product images, which we've labelled as image text. Sovol's comparison table lists SH02 presets as "PLA, PEGT, PC, ASA, ABS," while its page text and preset image list nine materials, so we've used the nine. Customer reviews and Q&A on both stores weren't used. EIBOS's Cyclopes user manual is on its download page, and its recommended settings table differs from the product image on drying times, so we've used the manual. We found no downloadable SH02 manual on Sovol's pages, and neither maker documents a tested fit with any printer or feeder. Read more in our editorial standards and affiliate disclosure.
