Polymaker PolyDryer Box vs Creality 10 kg Storage Box
PolyDryer Box vs Creality's 10 kg storage box on maker data: sealing, fit, feeding. Pick Polymaker to print from one sealed spool, Creality to shelve 10 kg.
On this page (11 sections)
Pick the Polymaker PolyDryer Box if you want one spool sealed with desiccant and a hygrometer, and fed out through an outlet while you print. Pick the Creality Filament Storage Box if you want to keep up to 10 kg of spools organized and out of dust on one shelf. These are two different kinds of storage. Polymaker's manual lists a hygrometer, color-changing silica gel desiccant, a spool roller, a PTFE tube, and two airlocks, and gives a maximum spool of 205 mm across. The box doesn't heat on its own; it dries filament only when docked on Polymaker's separately sold Dry Dock. Creality's box is a fabric-covered two-tier rack with a magnetic closure and windows. Creality's page lists no desiccant, hygrometer, seal, filament outlet, spool size limit, or outer dimensions. It does call the box "Moisture-Proof and Damp-Proof," which is Creality's claim.
Who this comparison is for
This page is for anyone choosing between a sealed box for a spool they print from and a cabinet for spools they're not using right now. We compare Polymaker's PolyDryer Box sold on its own as "PolyDryer™ Box (Only Storage Box)," without the Dry Dock, and Creality's Filament Storage Box. Polymaker also sells a 4-pack, a Box XL for 3 kg spools, and a kit with the Dry Dock, which we mention below.
For how to set up sealed storage, desiccant, and humidity checks, read our filament storage guide. For more storage products, see the filament storage shortlist. To see the PolyDryer Box against vacuum bags, read SainSmart eVacuum Bags vs Polymaker PolyDryer Box.

How we compared them
This is a research-based comparison. Every detail below comes from Polymaker's PolyDryer product page, user manual, and wiki, and from Creality's store page, all listed in the sources. We haven't stored or printed from either, so there are no humidity readings of ours here. Where a maker describes its own product, such as "the best sealing performance on the market," we label it as the maker's claim.
The two makers publish very different amounts. Polymaker's manual has a specification table and a packing list for the Box. Creality's store page text is a title, a subtitle, and four short feature lines, so most of the Creality details here come from text in its product images, which we label as image text. Neither maker publishes a humidity test for its box, so there's no test table on this page.

Sealing and moisture
This is the biggest difference between the two.
- Polymaker PolyDryer Box. Polymaker's product page says "You'll never have to break the seal again" and that the box "has the best sealing performance on the market." That's Polymaker's claim. The manual has you remove the airlocks for drying on the Dry Dock, then "replace the Airlocks tightly to ensure the best seal" afterward. Inside, a desiccant box holds 30 g of color-changing silica gel, which Polymaker says is orange when dry and dark green when wet. The manual says "DO NOT place loose desiccant at the bottom of the PolyDryer™ Box."
- Creality Filament Storage Box. Creality's page lists "Moisture-Proof and Damp-Proof," and its image text says "Moisture-Proof and Damp-Proof, Shielded from Dust." Its page describes no seal, gasket, desiccant, or hygrometer, and the closure it names is magnetic. Creality doesn't explain how the box keeps moisture out.
A fabric cover with a magnetic door isn't the same as a sealed box, and Creality doesn't claim it's airtight. If you want to use it for moisture-sensitive filament, put each spool in a sealed bag or box with desiccant first, as our filament storage guide describes.
Spool fit and capacity
- Polymaker PolyDryer Box. Polymaker's manual gives a maximum capacity of Φ205 × 78 mm "(Filament with spool)," and its product page says the box "Supports up to 1kg." The FAQ adds that the PolyDryer Box XL "supports up to 3kg." The manual also says to "Use spool roller to internally mount the spool, when the edge of spool damaged."
- Creality Filament Storage Box. Creality's image text says "Large Capacity, All-in-1 Storage Solution" and "Strong Load-Bearing without Deformation" with "10KG" above the rack. Its product images show two tiers with five spools on each. Creality doesn't publish a spool diameter or width limit, or the box's outer dimensions.
Measure your spools before you buy either. For the PolyDryer Box, check the outer diameter and width against Φ205 × 78 mm. For the Creality box, Creality gives no figures, so ask Creality or check the box against your spools when it arrives. Unknown fit isn't fit.
Feeding a printer and AMS
- Polymaker PolyDryer Box. The manual's quick start has you "Feed the filament through the outlet plug and then place the spool in," and the Box comes with a 50 cm PTFE tube. Polymaker's wiki lists a replacement PTFE tube as "ID:4mm, OD:6mm." Polymaker doesn't say which printers or feeders it suits.
- Creality Filament Storage Box. Creality's page doesn't describe a filament outlet or printing from the box. Treat it as storage between prints.
Neither maker mentions Bambu Lab's AMS or any other multi-material feeder on the pages we checked, so we make no compatibility claim for either. If you feed through a long PTFE run, check that the extra length and bends suit your extruder and filament, especially flexible filament.
Drying with the PolyDryer Dry Dock
The PolyDryer Box is the storage half of Polymaker's PolyDryer. Its manual says the Dry Dock and power adapter are "NOT included in PolyDryer™ Box," and the product page sells the Box, the Dock, a kit with both, and a Box 4-pack separately. Polymaker's FAQ says to regenerate saturated desiccant on the Dry Dock at power level 3 for "~8 hours," or in an oven at 100–120 °C for 1–2 hours, with the desiccant removed from the box. For more on the Dry Dock itself, see our SUNLU FilaDryer S2 vs PolyDryer comparison.
Creality's page lists no heater. Its store files the box under "Filament Dryer," but nothing on its page says it dries filament.
What each maker says it's for
- Polymaker PolyDryer Box. Polymaker describes the PolyDryer as "When drying meets storage" and says "With one drying dock you can add as many PolyDryer Boxes as you need so your next project is always ready to go."
- Creality Filament Storage Box. Creality's subtitle is "Effortless Organization for a Tidy Workspace," and its image text names filament and UV-sensitive resin storage.
Polymaker PolyDryer Box (Single storage box, no Dry Dock (PX01003))
- Best for
- Keeping a dried 1 kg spool sealed and feeding it straight to the printer.
- Skip this if
- Your spools are wider than 78 mm or larger than 1 kg.
Specs, strengths, and limitations
- Capacity
- One spool up to 1 kg; maximum 205 mm diameter × 78 mm (filament with spool), per the PolyDryer user manual
- Outer size
- 235 × 120 × 235 mm
- Maker notes
- Polymaker SKU PX01003 = PolyDryer Box (Only Storage Box); matches the Amazon model number. Manual packing list for the Box: PolyDryer Box, spool roller, 50 cm PTFE tube, hygrometer & desiccant box, 30 g colour-changing silica gel desiccant, 2 airlocks. The Dry Dock and power adapter are not included. Manual: Box product size 235(L) × 120(W) × 235(H) mm; maximum capacity 205 mm diameter × 78 mm (filament with spool). Desiccant turns from orange (dry) to dark green (wet). The manual says to regenerate it on the Dry Dock at power level 3 for about 8 hours (no filament in the box), in an oven at 100–120 °C for 1–2 hours, or in a microwave on low power for 30 seconds, flip, then another 30 seconds. Manual: 'DO NOT place loose desiccant at the bottom of the PolyDryer™ Box.' The hygrometer uses a 1.5 V LR44 battery; the Polymaker FAQ says its minimum readout is 10%. Filament diameters 1.75 / 2.85 / 3.00 mm. Manual: 'Feed the filament through the outlet plug'; Polymaker's image says 'Ready to print without ever opening the box.'
- Manual has you feed the filament through the box's outlet plug and refit the airlocks tightly after drying, so you can print from the sealed box.
- Manual lists a built-in hygrometer and 30 g of colour-changing silica gel desiccant.
- Manufacturer states the box docks onto the separately sold PolyDryer Dry Dock for active drying.
- Polymaker's manual lists a maximum spool size of 205 mm diameter × 78 mm, so wider spools will not fit.
- Storage only: it does not heat. Drying needs the separately sold Dry Dock.
Creality Filament Storage Box (10 kg two-tier storage cabinet, unheated (SKU 4005010089))
- Best for
- Organizing up to 10 kg of spools out of dust near the printer.
- Skip this if
- You need airtight storage for nylon, PETG, TPU or other moisture-sensitive filament.
Specs, strengths, and limitations
- Capacity
- 10 kg on a two-tier rack (Creality image text); Creality's images show five spools per tier
- Maker notes
- Creality store SKU 4005010089. The Amazon model number (AMUS-CU-3D-AC-Storage Box-New) does not contain the SKU; brand, title and 10 kg capacity match. Creality image text: two-tier rack, 'Strong Load-Bearing without Deformation' with '10KG'; an 'Easy Installation' image shows the rack in parts. Creality image text: cover layers are Oxford cloth / support plate / Oxford cloth; 'Magnetic Closure for Easy Access'; 'Transparent and Visible' windows. Creality markets it for filament and UV-sensitive resin storage. Creality's page lists no desiccant, hygrometer, gasket seal, or outer dimensions. The Amazon listing says the rack is aluminium alloy; Creality's page does not state the rack material. Not the heated version: Amazon also lists a Creality 10 kg box with a 70 °C heating module (B0GYC85LFS), which is a different product.
- Manufacturer states the two-tier rack holds 10 kg of filament.
- Manufacturer states the door uses a magnetic closure and the cover has clear windows.
- Manufacturer states the cover is a three-layer Oxford cloth and support-plate construction.
- It is a fabric cabinet with a magnetic door, not a gasket-sealed box; Creality lists no desiccant or hygrometer, so it is better for dust and light than for keeping filament dry.
- Storage only: it does not heat and will not dry wet filament.
- Creality does not publish outer dimensions on its product page.
Verdict: which should you buy?

- Your spools fit within Φ205 × 78 mm and weigh up to 1 kg.
- You may want to dry in the same box later with Polymaker's Dry Dock.
Choose the Creality Filament Storage Box if…
- You want to keep up to 10 kg of spools organized and out of dust on one shelf.
- You'll seal moisture-sensitive spools in bags or boxes with desiccant before shelving them.
- You can check your spools against the box yourself, since Creality publishes no dimensions.
Safety and limits
How this page was checked
Every size, feature, and warranty detail above comes from Polymaker's product page, manual, and wiki and from Creality's store page in the sources section, retrieved on 2026-10-12. We haven't stored or printed from either box for this page, so there are no humidity readings of ours here. The PolyDryer Box's size, spool limit, filament diameters, and packing list come from Polymaker's manual; its capacity, hygrometer minimum, and warranty come from the product page and FAQ. Creality's page text lists four features, so the Creality capacity, cover layers, windows, and resin storage details come from text in its product images, and the two-tiers-of-five layout comes from its product photos. We searched both makers' pages and found no AMS or printer-feeder compatibility claim for either box. Read more in our editorial standards and affiliate disclosure.
